3 Facets of Self Motivation - Inspiration, Aspiration and Perspiration

Cerca Trova -- Seek and you shall find or He who searches shall find. This is an old Italian saying.
Do you lack motivation? Are you seeking a mentor or guide to give you directions? Can't find one? Look into self. You will get some motivation there. You just need an extra push. Here is the guideline to help you finding the self motivation.
1. Inspiration: Look at people around you. Read autobiographies of successful people. Go through the list of Time 100 most influential people. Everyone has struggled and come out with panache. What made them successful individuals? Why you can't be a successful person too. Seek inspiration from these people. Inspire yourself by mapping their life sketches to yours.
2. Aspiration: You must have dreams to live for. You must have a passion to crave for. You must have some objectives in mind. You know what will make you successful and contented. Aspire for it. Break your larger goal into smaller ones. Milestones after milestones, you'll reach there. Persistence is the mantra.
Whenever you feel low and lack motivation to march forward in achieving the goal, look into your past achievements and then estimate what remains to be done. Sharpen your skills. Start from here again. Again, break larger goal into smaller milestones. Think hard and start the voyage again.
3. Perspiration: There is no short cut to hard work. Rather, hard work is short cut to success. So work hard to realize your passion. Don't get afraid of failures. As they say failures are pillars to success. You will understand the truth of this saying only if you persistently try to achieve your aspirations and do not give up in the midway.
As a whole, motivation comes from self realization. So seek to understand about your goals, your resources, your capability and kind of pressure you can handle. This understanding doesn't come easy. But practice makes you perfect in self realization, ultimately leading you to self motivation.

Self Motivation - 10 Key Steps When Faced With Impossible Choices

Your employers are taking advantage of you, you are about to be made redundant, you are in debt and your finances are a mess, your wife/husband/partner and you keep arguing, you are under so much pressure - you need to "do" something, anything, right now.
I have been there - believe me - more than once, and over many years, I do know what it feels like to be $200k in debt, with no credit, no paying clients, a mortgage company foreclosing, creditors suing me and with no apparent prospects of recovery... It's hard and it is painful and it is very difficult. Self motivation when faced with irreconcilable or impossible choices seems impossible.
We live in an age and a culture that is obsessed with instant fixes and that confuses the apparent reality of the world as we think we know it with how it really is.
Many people are now experiencing unwelcome and painful situations of imposed change.
There are no magic bullets but there is a way through these times of harsh imposed change. Based on my personal experience, here are some practical self motivation suggestions when faced with irreconcilable or impossible choices in situations of imposed change:
(1) Things do take time - often months and frequently years - for the ultimate purpose and personal benefit of the imposed change to be become apparent to us and realised in our day to day experience.
(2) Trust - contrary to how we feel, we really can let go and trust in whatever it is that we personally regard as our highest and guiding energy.
(3) Stop fighting it - if we stop fighting what is happening to us and accept and allow the change to happen - we will survive - but not by struggling and trying to make it happen.
(4) Do less and think less - contrary to all of our deeply ingrained instincts, we need to do less, to think far less, step back and get our egos out of the way.
(5) Realise that you cannot think your way out of this - we need to understand that we can not think our way out of this situation
(6) Your survival and self motivation is going to be grounded in underused mental and spiritual faculties - our survival and self motivation is going to be grounded in mental and spiritual faculties of which we may have little or no prior real direct experience.
(7) Learn to truly "go with the flow" - the biggest key to all this is to behave and respond in ways that may be the completely alien to us by allowing and cultivating a very deep acceptance of what is happening and acknowledging that we are not in control of circumstances and - counter cultural and counter intuitive as this sounds - to "go with the flow".
(8) Become aligned to something greater - The more we can "surrender to the flow" then the more we automatically become "aligned" to a far greater dimension of our consciousness than we may have ever previously experienced - this really is the key.
(9) Self motivation flows from alignment - it is this alignment with the flow that is the dynamic that will pull us through this difficult situation and it is this alignment that is the source of our self motivation through and beyond present difficult circumstances.
(10) There is always a spiritual dynamic at work - whether we realise it or not, whether we accept it or not, there is always a spiritual dynamic at work in these situations. (I use the word "spiritual" in a generic sense to refer to, or to point to, the higher or more transcendent dimensions of human experience, awareness and consciousness.)
The ultimate purpose that lies behind all of our struggles and profound discomfort at times of unwelcome and imposed change is always constructive and always transformative.
If, and this is a massive "if", we can surrender our egos, accept what is happening and allow the change to take place, it will reveal the previously hidden nature of "who I really am and why I am here" and we will find that we are really are on the path to deep and permanent personal change and transformation.

Forget Excuses - Remember Self Motivation

The internet is a wonderful thing and since its introduction to the world it has created an abundance of money making opportunities for anyone looking to make an income from home.
A lot of individuals who have gone on to make substantial incomes from online businesses started with zero or limited knowledge of how to do so.
Today more than ever there are a good number of internet entrepreneurs and businesses offering genuine online business opportunities.
So with all these opportunities available why do only a handful of people succeed while the majority either give up or just move from opportunity to opportunity without ever getting close to success?
The reason most people fail is down to personal development, the need to identify and set goals, then be able to systemically carry them through to conclusion.
Add to this the ability to keep yourself motivated when things don't always go the way you planned and you find a cocktail of characteristics that the majority of us have to work hard to maintain.
Everyday when you wake, you have a very important choice to make...
You have to choose what to do with your time and the choice you make will determine whether by the end of the day you will be closer to where you want, or at the same point you where when you woke up that morning.
Too many people say they want to change their lives for the better, some even set goals and maybe have a small idea of what they need to do, but sadly the choice they make when they wake in the morning is the same one they have been making every day up to that point...
The point is your life will not change unless you take action...
None of your goals will be achieved unless you do something about them...
When I speak to people, I hear all kinds of excuses but the most common one by far is,..
I don't have the time!
I don't have the time... these five little words are by far the favourite excuse for many people to hide behind.
However, when I dig a little deeper and start asking some questions, I find that in the majority of cases a little lifestyle change here and there and a small sacrifice or two can free up the valuable hours you need to start making a difference to your lives.
It may come as no surprise that one of the biggest consumers of our time is television,
Latest stats tell us that the average Brit watches 24 hours of TV a week and the average American 30 hours a week!
24-30 hours A WEEK!
That's almost a full time job, even if you reduced your time watching TV by half that would free up 15 hours a week that could be better spent working on your goals and ambitions.
It's not just TV either plenty of time is wasted away on other activities, things like spending hours at the mall, going to pubs and bars, going to ball games/events, playing video games, reading newspapers/magazines, social media, procrastinating, browsing the internet for nothing in particular the list goes on.
None of the things on this list are vital to our everyday lives yet so many people are unwilling to give them up, even though they say they want to change their lives and their circumstances.
I'm not saying cut everything you enjoy out of your life...
I'm just saying if you really do want to make changes sometimes you have to make short term sacrifices in order to manage your time better and maybe even (for now) stop doing some of the things you would normally do in order to free up the time you need to make long term gains.
So lets assume you have decided to make some changes and you have managed to free up some extra hours during the week.
What do you do next?
After all you have just potentially given something up you really enjoy, something you have been doing for years.
How are you supposed to keep yourself moving forward and not revert back to the comfortable, TV watching procrastinator you were before we decided to make these changes?
Well the one thing you must have if you want to succeed is a daily shot of motivation, this is essential because if you are not motivated then it is very easy to slide back into the rut you have just pulled yourself out of.
It is especially important at the start that you get this daily shot until you build up the belief that what you are doing is working, until you can see everyday that you are getting closer to your goal and until the motivation comes without you having to search for it.
When you get to that point you will have a drive and determination that will be burning so deep inside you that you will not be able to ignore it, it will get to the stage where any obstacle that is put in your way will just be taken in your stride and you will feel like nothing can stop you from achieving what you set out to do.
So how do you get to that point? what do you need to do?
The first thing is have your goals written out in as much detail as possible and read these goals every morning as you wake and every evening before you retire, this will remind you of why you are making these changes to your life and instil some of the motivation you need to keep going.
The second thing is to make a mood board - A mood board is a visual representation of where you want to be in your life and is usually made up of images and text representing your ambitions and goals.
As with your goals make sure you look at this everyday and imagine yourself in as much detail as possible living the life your goals and mood board show.
The final thing is a daily affirmation, this is something you need to do by yourself.
Put aside 10 minutes during the day, turn off your mobile phone, the radio and the TV find yourself a quiet spot in a dimly lit or darkened room, sit down in a comfortable chair and relax.
Next repeat the following to yourself:
"I awake everyday feeling an insatiable drive and determination to succeed, I find it easy to motivate myself and I look forward with excitement to the things I will achieve during the coming day."
Close your eyes and clear your mind of any distracting thoughts, don't try to think of anything just let yourself relax for a minute or two, relax your body and let the tension drain away from your muscles.
It is not easy to do this at first so you may find it easier to concentrate on each individual body part, starting at your toes and working up until your whole body is relaxed.
With practice you will find this comes easier until you can almost do it without thinking.
Next start to count slowly in your head until you reach 20. When you do you should feel totally relaxed, almost trance-like. If any other distracting thoughts should pop into your head as you count, don't worry, clear your mind and start over.
When you are in this relaxed state concentrate on the statement you have just read, don't worry about knowing it all off by heart just repeat the key words to yourself.
Slowly return to your fully conscious state thinking as you do that you are feeling more relaxed more alert and more motivated than you were before.
The subconscious mind is a powerful thing and the whole point of this exercise is to instil these thoughts into your subconscious mind until they are accepted as fact and in doing so will become second nature to you.
You will notice that if you repeat this exercise on a regular daily basis you will start to see the results in no time at all. You will probably find that at first it is hard to get to the right level of deep relaxation but once you do start to master this consistently then the speed with which you achieve your desired effect will increase.

5 Tips to Encourage Self-Motivation in Your Little One

Do you find your little one less enthusiastic about playing with her friends? Does she seem aloof to you about everything else? Do you find that she is deteriorating in her studies as well? If you nodded in affirmation, then there are high chances that your little one lacks self-motivation.
Self-motivation is the key that leaves a great impression on how your little one is pacing in her daily life. From performing well in the curriculum to building some good habits, a self-motivated child can do wonders with her life. Motivation comes naturally until the age of seven, but up till reaching this age group a kid is observing her surroundings and always learning something new. However, after the age of seven, she must be able to motivate herself.
Although self-motivation is an inside process and varies from kid to kid, as a parent, you can always motivate and push your child to nurture her ability to do better and better. Here's how you can do that:
1. Stay Positive
Even if she is failing at something, always dwell on the efforts she is putting in rather than nagging about the things she is not good at. If there is a problem, try to be compassionate and come up with a solution. You will soon see this positive outlook and behavior being reflected in your little princess.
2. Appreciate Efforts
Rather than just saying 'good job' for everything, take some time to rethink how you want to appreciate all the good things that she is doing. For example, if she shares her toys with her friends, you can acknowledge her good behavior by complementing, "Your friend must have enjoyed and felt immensely good when you shared your toys with her". This will motivate your charming daughter to always behave well and do good in other aspects of her life.
3. Tackle Failures
Tell your little bundle of joy that it is okay to lose sometimes. What is important is the attempt and what she learns from failing at it in the first go. This trait of gracefully accepting the defeat and moving on from setbacks will prove immensely beneficial later in her life.
4. Adopt Learning Style
When a certain subject is hard to learn for your kid, then you can encourage the learning through fostering her interests. Suppose if she likes baking, you can teach her the measuring concepts by teaching her how to measure the ingredients. This will teach her about size, volume, and density without even making it appear like a burdensome math lesson.
5. Build Self-Esteem
When she believes in herself, any difficult mountain can be moved with ease. Building a positive self-esteem will open the ways towards building self-esteem. Help your little one to build self-esteem and believe in herself, then there won't be even a single thing that she would think of as unattainable. You can always try to look out what she enjoys doing the most and how she interprets the right from the wrong.
Final Word
Like any other parent in the world, you would also want your little one to be successful in school and later in her life as an adult. Set your little one on the path of success by inculcating self-motivation. Always encourage your pretty princess to go beyond the boundaries and achieve big. It is a vital skill that is needed for whatever she chooses to do in her life!

Self-Motivation Strategies for Greater Achievement

The key to self-motivation is setting goals. Without goals, it really doesn't matter how self motivated a person tries to be. They have to know what it is that they are motivated for.
There must be a reward or benefit for it to be motivation. That is what drives us as humans. Without this factor, there will not likely be success in self-motivation.
That is the reason why it is very important to make a list of goals. This first step will get you started in the right direction to achieving self-motivation.
Now, let's talk about goals. The goals we set for ourselves sometimes tend to be way out of our reach. When we do this, we our basically setting ourselves up for failure. When this happens, it is like taking a giant step backwards in the motivation process.
A person`s goals need to be both realistic and possible. For instance, if winning the lottery is your goal, you need to rethink that goal. Yes, it is possible but it is not realistic to win the lottery. It is very important to make sure that person's goals fit into both of these categories.
Another piece of advice in achieving self-motivation is to never look back on past failures. This is just not a productive thing to do. We tend to get hung up on our mistakes and then they become major obstacles on the way to our goals.
We can learn from our mistakes that we have made in the past, but be careful not to dwell on them. So, remembering that we are just human and we are not perfect can help us become more self-motivated.
Once you have figured out what motivates you personally, and you have set your goals, you're about one third of the way through the process.
The next step is to find your objectives. They are very specific objectives. They need to be measurable, for instance, by the week, day or month. When questioned about these objectives, the answer should be a yes or no answer. They are basically directives that will tell you what needs to be done and when.
Next comes the part where our human nature tries to step in and stop this self-motivation process. It is called the commitment step. This phase of the process is difficult more so for some than others.
Some people just have a real hard time committing to jobs, relationships, and personal gains. Some of this lack of commitment comes from low self-esteem or low self-confidence.
In order to be successful at self-motivation, one must be confident in them selves and know their own worth. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Identifying your personal weaknesses and strengths is a giant step in the right direction.
Whether you are searching for self motivation for the purpose of losing weight, exercising more, starting a new career, or putting an end to bad habits, there are many self help websites out on the internet that can help a person with these issues.
There are also online classes that can be taken to help improve some of these areas and issues. Books on self-help can be purchased at many bookstores nationwide, as well.
The resources out there are great in number and they pretty much say the same things. But the bottom line is that it is up to you and your attitude and your mindset.
If you want to be self motivated, then all it will take is searching for what motivates you. Getting a reachable goal will also help you get started on the right path to self motivation.

Unlock Your Life's Purpose With These Motivation Tips

Does it seem like it takes a lot of motivation to just take that first step of starting a new project, article or business venture? Are you unsure or confused as to what God's will or purpose is in your life?
There is so much more to life than living out each day and not having a purpose for that day. How many miraculous blessings have I missed throughout my life just squandering the days away and expecting to be blessed when I don't focus on God's will or purpose?
I love to write but sometimes my lack of motivation keeps me from my writing. When I am motivated, it gives me the will to create, be productive and achieve a sense of satisfaction. I actually get things accomplished, which in turn takes my inaction to action and I feel growth, and a feeling of significance and more power because of mastering my purpose in this life.
By excelling my motivation, I then have the opportunity to touch other people's lives by my writing and so it becomes the main focus of my life that I enjoy. When I learn to overcome being stuck and become motivated, I am living out my dream of spreading the word of God and His powerful influence in my life.
I have found that the results for living out God's plan for my life now opens the door for more blessings... how great is that?
You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:36
The best way to stay motivated for whatever your life's purpose, is to not worry specifically what that is. The best thing to do is take action! Create a schedule that is realistic and stick to it. Do God's will and it will happen naturally and in His timing as shown:
" For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Jeremiah 29:11.
Your schedule will be something similar to this depending on your God-given talent or area of interest:
Every day is a great opportunity to:
Start off the day with prayer. Read the Bible and or listen to a recorded Christian radio show. My favorite is Intouch.org with Charles Stanley. The online radio broadcast lasts about twenty minutes. After dinner, read the Bible and do Bible study. If there is a church service today, it's good to attend and co-mingle with other people of faith and learn more about His word. Volunteer for help needed when you feel the Holy Spirit prompting you.
Day One:
Reach out to friends and relatives that are not saved and have a friendly conversation. Tell them about what great things God has done for you and is presently doing in your life, and lead them to Christ.
Day Two:
Write an article or work on your particular project and donate something or time to charity.
Day Three:
Do marketing for articles and or products and submit articles to other Christian blogs and social media. Also posting comments on blogs or forums with the related website link will allow for more exposure.
Rinse and Repeat! Now there may be some days where you need to work overtime or a big event comes up and some things need to be moved around. Being there for your family also is a huge priority. Raise your children with more attention and Godly discipline and you will have fewer worries when they are grown!
Another way to achieve even more motivation is to be aware that the days are short and you never know when you may run out of time to fulfill God's will.
Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. James 4:14
Do as much as you can weekly and record your daily accomplishments. Add extra or different Godly activities that fit your life. Review them weekly and see if you are staying motivated for God's Kingdom and watch how you soon will discover your life's purpose!
